The first step to resolving network issues
Sometimes a computer has issues connecting to the network (even more so the internet), but your coworker's connection is working just fine. If this is the case, the first step you can take to try and resolve the issue yourself is the following:
First, let me say that I'm assuming we're all using Windows 7. With that said:
1. Click on Start
2. Type cmd in the "Search programs and files" text box.
3. Select cmd.exe from the Programs section of the search results
4. Type the following command to disable your network connection: netsh interface set interface "Local Area Connection" disabled
5. Type the following command to re-enable your network connection: netsh interface set interface "Local Area Connection" enabled
If you are uncomfortable with these instructions, I have attached a batch file (See Network_Repair.bat below) that will run the two commands for you. You may save the file to your desktop and double click it to run the commands.
If after performing these steps or running the batch file you are still unable to connect, please have your coworker submit a ticket using the Submit a Request link.
